About KRESCENT
The Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training program, KRESCENT, is a national training program for kidney researchers in Canada, run as a partnership between the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Canadian Society of Nephrology and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. It funds researchers at three stages: summer studentships, post-doctoral fellowships, and new investigator awards, and pairs the funding with mentorship and a national training curriculum.
Paediatric nephrology has been well represented among its awardees, and several CAPN members have held KRESCENT support at more than one career stage. Full details are on the KRESCENT website.
Applying
Competitions and deadlines are posted on the KRESCENT funding opportunities page. Trainees considering an application are encouraged to speak with a CAPN member who has held a KRESCENT award; several are listed above.
